President Prabowo Subianto recently met with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the issue of unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono stated that the construction was carried out without the necessary permits, violating the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction has been sealed temporarily while further investigation is conducted to determine ownership and legality. President Prabowo has directed a comprehensive legal review of the situation, involving collaboration with various stakeholders such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The primary goal is to ensure adherence to legal procedures and prevent potential negative consequences such as erosion. This proactive approach showcases the government’s dedication to enforcing regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
