In a video conference discussing renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s capacity to efficiently produce energy and reduce costly logistics chains.
Energy independence is crucial for Indonesia’s vision of national sovereignty, with the government’s strategy focusing on the launch of 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to supply clean, reliable, and efficient energy throughout the archipelago.
Prabowo praised the collaborative efforts of ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil for supporting Indonesia’s energy transition. While acknowledging the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, he highlighted the importance of renewable energy, particularly solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.
The President expressed hope for Indonesia’s future, pointing to solar energy as a beacon of promise for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By harnessing renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way towards a brighter and more sustainable future.
