President Prabowo Subianto recently visited former President Joko Widodo at his residence in Solo to provide updates on his state visits to various countries like Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Belgium, and France. During the visit, Prabowo shared insights from his international tour, highlighting breakthroughs achieved, particularly in negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union. Accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Prabowo arrived at Jokowi’s residence and engaged in cordial discussions on current issues and the outcomes of his 15-day diplomatic tour.
Expressing gratitude for the positive results obtained from his visits, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s strong international standing and commitment to neutrality and cooperation. He underscored Indonesia’s reputation as a non-aligned country, known for avoiding political blocs and emphasizing economic partnerships. Prabowo also mentioned the country’s application to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as a testament to its acceptance and respect for other nations.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo also participated in the meeting with Jokowi. The discussions centered on Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts and commitment to fostering friendly relations with all countries while maintaining a neutral stance. Overall, the meeting was described as warm and relaxed, reflecting the mutual respect and cooperation between the two leaders.
