Growing up without a father hasn’t stopped Andra Farizki Ramdhani from moving forward. Raised by his mother, the sole breadwinner of the family, this 10th-grade student at People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta has found hope through the People’s School initiative by President Prabowo Subianto. Despite financial struggles, Andra expressed gratitude for the People’s School, which has provided him with an opportunity for proper education.
The People’s School, where Andra studies, is a boarding school that has presented challenges and rewards in equal measure. While adjusting to dorm life has been difficult, he finds solace in the vibrant atmosphere among friends. His days are filled with structured routines, including morning prayers, exercise, and classes, with evening calls to his mother for connection. The facilities at SRMA 10 have exceeded his expectations, offering a conducive learning environment that keeps him engaged.
Andra is actively involved in extracurricular activities such as the student flag-raising team, the youth Red Cross, and his passion for judo. With dreams of becoming a judo athlete and pursuing higher education at Defense University (Unhan), Andra remains determined to make his ambitions a reality. Despite facing doubt from others, he finds strength in his mother’s unwavering support and prayers.
Grateful for studying without financial burdens, Andra sees the People’s School as a beacon of hope for underprivileged children determined to learn. The school’s accessibility and lack of additional costs make it an attractive option for those seeking education. For Andra, every aspect of his experience at the People’s School, from academics to sports and dorm life, contributes to his growth and independence. With determination and his mother’s prayers, Andra believes that his dreams are now within reach.
