The celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, on Sunday (Aug. 17) was filled with enthusiasm as a cultural parade brought citizens from various regions toward the State Palace. Amid the vibrant festivities, heartfelt prayers and hopes were expressed for President Prabowo Subianto and the future of the nation.
Aryati, a resident of Karanganyar Subdistrict, Sawah Besar District, expressed her gratitude for being part of the parade, stating, “We were invited to join the parade for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day. I’m so happy, so excited, to be able to take part in today’s event.” She hopes that Indonesia will progress towards a brighter future, wishing for prosperity for all Indonesian people. Aryati also offered a prayer for the President, hoping for his health and for all Indonesian citizens to live in peace, prosperity, and harmony.
Echoing Aryati’s sentiment, her companion emphasized the importance of national unity and positive changes that benefit all Indonesians. She hoped for the health, prosperity, and safety of the people, while emphasizing the need for harmony between different ethnic groups and religions.
Satim, a resident of Kampung Rawa, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, expressed his happiness and pride in participating in the celebration, expressing his hopes for Indonesia to achieve greater success, progress, prosperity, and welfare. He also wished for strong leadership that protects and serves the people.
For these citizens, being present at Monas during such a historic moment was more than just a celebration. It was an expression of their love for the nation and their collective hope for lasting peace in Indonesia.
