Prabowo Subianto, the Defense Minister of Indonesia, received a warm welcome from French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to the Élysée Palace in France on Wednesday (24/7).
The arrival of Prabowo was marked by an honor guard ceremony and a marching band. As he emerged from his car, Macron greeted him with a handshake and a warm embrace.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, for the warm welcome to Indonesia,” said Defense Minister Prabowo.
Prabowo and Macron also exchanged greetings and took a photograph together, symbolizing the strong relationship between Indonesia and France.
During their meeting, they discussed global security issues and Prabowo congratulated France for hosting the Paris 2024 Olympics, which is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 11, 2024.
Prabowo expressed confidence in the success of the Paris 2024 Olympics, emphasizing the cooperation of athletes from around the world in showcasing their talents.
The partnership between Indonesia and France is robust and will be further enhanced in various areas such as defense equipment modernization, the defense industry, education, training, and dialogue forums.
“We appreciate President Macron for his significant and active role in strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries. I am confident that his leadership will continue to bolster cooperation between Indonesia and France,” Prabowo stated.
